Jo-Jo Jackson began practicing yoga in 2010. After a few months of practice, she started to sense that yoga was something she wanted to make a permanent practice in her life. In 2014, she completed a 230-hr yoga teacher training program at the Asheville Yoga Center. And, she recently began a 450-hour Ayurveda Wellness Counselor program.
Jo-Jo’s hatha-vinyasa classes are dynamic, encouraging breath and purposeful intention-setting to create a “moving meditation.” Her restorative classes incorporate yin yoga, guided meditation, deep breathing techniques, vibrational/sound healing, and somatic movement.
In addition to yoga, Jo-Jo is a bassist, road cyclist, and writer. She is grateful for this humbling and empowering yoga practice, and she is grateful to have the skill and ability to share this practice with her community.
Jo-Jo teaches in the community at McGavock High School, and she teaches at the SWY Community Studio on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM.
