Ellen Morris

Ellen got into yoga in middle school when her mom started practicing to heal her knee from a ski injury. Ellen found Baptiste Power Yoga as a student at the University of Miami where she lived next door to a Baptiste studio. She was first attracted to the physicality of a power yoga practice and then grew to love the confidence and groundedness it gives all areas of her life.
Ellen completed her 200 hour certification with Dancing Dogs Yoga in 2019 and went on to teach at Liv Yoga and Wellness in Livingston, MT. She now teaches outreach for Maplewood High School in Nashville and strives to be a teacher that shows yoga is truly for everyone. As much as she enjoys teaching yoga, Ellen feels she is forever more of a student of this practice that began long before anyone in the United States recognized it.
Ellen is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer and besides yoga enjoys hiking, fly fishing, reading a book in the sunshine, and hanging out with her cat. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Science in Social Work and plans to incorporate yoga into her therapeutic practice. You can expect Ellen’s classes to be a vigorous workout that also encourage students to tune in to what feelings and emotions their bodies are bringing up.
