Ashley is a passionate, fun-loving yoga instructor that welcomes any and every “body” to the mat. Since 2008, she has dedicated her life to teaching and helping others through various fitness modalities. She comes from a professional background in personal training, group fitness, and public safety. While studying Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Central Florida, she was introduced to yoga for the first time in 2006. Although her personal practice started out as a “mental study break,” it immediately developed into a love that would last a lifetime. Several years later, Ashley completed
training programs to become a professional firefighter and EMT in her hometown, Pensacola, Florida. The physical requirements and immediate response to emergencies developed a deeper connection to breath work, mindfulness, and meditation.
Ashley and her husband (and their 4 rescue dogs) moved to Atlanta in 2014, where she continued to teach and train adults, but also had the opportunity to focus on athletic teams at a high school in the greater Atlanta area. Realizing that her high schoolers needed yoga for their minds and bodies, Ashley completed her 200 hour YTT certification through Etowah Valley Yoga in 2015, and fell in love with teaching younger yogis. She completed her Kids Yoga Teacher Training certification in May 2017 and Kids Aerial Yoga and Mindfulness certification in 2018. Forever a child at heart, Ashley has a true passion
for teaching kids of all ages (especially her little yogis). She enjoys creating fun activities and movement, mindful breathing techniques, and a joyful, positive environment for her yogis to feel confident and loved. Ashley was drawn to SWY because she believes that every child in every school should be able to experience yoga.
When Ashley is not teaching yoga (or substitute teaching in Davidson and Williamson County), she loves Pilates, paddle boarding, DIY projects, and going on outdoor adventures with her husband and 4 fur-kids. She is currently working on her comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body.
